Gettin' Their Shojo On! Girls Go Gaga for Japanese Shojo Manga**

I just read about a new craze in the comic book industry... and it doesn't involve adolescent boys. It's Shojo Manga, a type of Japanese comic geared towards girls, and apparently it's hit the U.S. A recent article in Wiretap entitled U.S. Teenage Girls Prefer Japanese Heroes focuses on a new publication called Shojo Beat (remember Tiger Beat?! ohhh, David Cassidy, I can still see your dreamy face smiling at me from the glossy colored pages...,) a collection of English language Japanese manga comics geared towards girls.

Shojo Manga Exhibit:

You can view this new craze first-hand on our campus. The Humanities Center Gallery (Trinity 100) is showing SHOJO MANGA POWER! Girl Comics from Japan. The exhibit [see photo above] opens today! Wed. Oct. 26 and continues thru Dec. 8 (dates have been extended beyond those previously announced.)
